This year marks the 60^th of existence for the German Design Council, who each year, doles out prestigious awards to honor innovative design and outstanding communications innovative in the realm of automotive.

Fans of BMW will remember back in 2011 when the luxury automaker announced the creation of a new sub-brand.  It's now known as BMW i, and it's responsible for helping to mainstream the automaker's zero-emissions vehicles for fans of the brand both here in Salem, OR and all over the world.

We've always known the BMW 3 Series to be a shining member of our new model lineup, and we aren't the only ones who think that it stands out from a rather stellar lineup.  It's won plenty of awards since it was introduced in 1977, but we're particularly proud of the fact that it was recently awarded a 2013 All-Star award from Automobile Magazine.

There seems to be a smartphone app for everything these days, and while some are arguably better than others, there are few automotive applications that really shine.  BMW looks to change this, though, with its new M Power App, which lets those with both one of the automaker's high-performance M Division vehicles and an iPhone (sorry, Android devotees) record their car's performance on either the street or the racetrack.
