You know those kids in high school who were just naturally gifted athletes, getting all of the trophies and ribbons in all the major sporting events?  We're starting to think the BMW is the same way, as its metaphorical 2013 trophy case is already getting pretty full and the year is only halfway through.   The latest award to go the luxury German car company was award at the Automotive Brand Contest, which is the only nonaligned, international design competition of its kind in the world.  At the competition, the German Design Council awards outstanding brands for impressive product and communication design, which we think is great because it draws attention to the importance of good brand design.

It's a pretty big deal to be recognized by this prestigious council, and while one award is impressive, BMW truly blew us away by winning not one, not two, but 19 awards.

The Bavarian automaker was recognized a total of 16 times in the Automotive Brand Contest, all thanks to its impressively designed vehicles like the the BMW Z4, M6 Gran Coupe and 3 Series Gran Turismo.

The three remaining awards were given to the BMW Group for its work in the architecture world, specifically for the work it did on one its Paris, France brand stores.
