This year marks the 60th of existence for the German Design Council, who each year, doles out prestigious awards to honor innovative design and outstanding communications innovative in the realm of automotive.
And, as you may have guessed by the fact that we at BMW of Salem are reporting on it, the Bavarian automaker BMW was recognized this year by the award contest. However, even if you had more than one guess, you likely would still not come to just how many awards BMW Group actually took home; so, we will just tell you: 19.
That's right, the 2013 Automotive Brand Contest concluded with BMW's garnering of 16 honors for its innovative new BMW portfolio (including its MINI subsidiary), and another three for many of its side architecture projects such as the well-known Quiet Motion installation, used to call attention to sustainability via BMW i models and renowned design-brothers, Ronana and Erwan Bouroullec.
As for the new BMW models that earned the most attention from the German Design Council, they include: the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW M6 Gran Coupe and BMW Z4 sports car which has refined its segment with both its revolutionary technology, slender, longer frame, and seamlessly retractable hardtop.
