BMW Names New Managing Director for Plant in Germany

BMW has named a new managing director for its plant in Regensburg, Germany.

And on Feb. 1, 2017, Manfred Erlacher, will take up the new position. Erlacher was the former President and CEO of BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Knudt Flor, who is currently responsible for BMW Group corporate quality, will succeed him.

Under Erlacher’s direction, production at the South Carolina plant grew from nearly 300,000 units annually to over 400,000. The factory has also won several awards including the:

BMW released a unique film on BMWFilms.com. The Oct. 23 movie, directed by Academy Award-nominated director Neill Blomkamp, featured celebrities such as Dakota Fanning, Clive Owen, Vera Farmiga and Jon Bernthal.
