In spite of BMW’s axing of the 6 Series coupe, it will be replaced by an even higher-end model. That’s what the Concept 8 Series is previewing—a flagship two door that exemplifies a high-end sports car with the latest in the brand’s styling, technology, and powertrains. Set to be unveiled in production form next year, we’re told most of its eye-catching design will carry over.

The Concept 8 Series has a long nose and stubby tail connected by a fastback roofline and crisp character lines. In the front, the double kidney grille is larger than on any other BMW model we’ve seen, and the aggressively-narrowed headlamps add a sporting flair. We’re told there will be an M8 variant powered by a biturbo V8, while the non-performance version will offer a V12. Based off the technology of the current 7 Series, we expect it to be light, sustainable, and pretty fast.

More details will follow as its street-date nears, but in the meantime, if you have a need for the precision and engagement of the Ultimate Driving Machine, we’re here to deliver. The sales team at our BMW dealership in Salem, OR would be happy to assist you when you call.
