While competing premium automakers add dashes of sporty DNA to their crossovers, the BMW SAV lineup makes these qualities standard. In the case of the all-new 2018 X3 arriving in November, the xDrive30i will get M-Performance zest, while the M40i will offer the complete experience.

The xDrive30i comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and a six-second sprint to sixty with all-wheel drive standard. As for the M40i, a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six doles our 355 horses and 369 lb-ft of torque, and hits sixty in 4.6 seconds. Accompanying these performance upgrades are some other detail-oriented changes. Aerodynamics have been enhanced, as well as reworked chassis structure for better performance and fuel efficiency. As a first, the X3 will also come with a factory-installed trailer hitch, if requested.
