USA Swimming recently announced that its longtime partnership with BMW has been extended through 2020. As the program's official automotive sponsor, BMW will contribute to the development of technology that improves athletic performance in the pool, by tracking swimmers during training and providing real-time feedback to assist in improving mechanics and stroke-efficiency.
Trudy Hardy, Vice President of Marketing, BMW of North America, said in a press release, “Our involvement with USA Swimming and with the Olympic movement in general has always been about the athletes, first and foremost. I’m proud to say that our collaborations with U.S. Paralympic Track & Field and USA Bobsled & Skeleton have resulted in a combined ten Olympic and Paralympic medals. It is our hope that we can continue this run of success and help the athletes of USA Swimming reach their goals.”
BMW has teamed with USA Swimming since 2010, leveraging the company's technological and engineering expertise to improve athletes' performance leading up to the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
