Anticipation was high for the BMW i8 plus-in hybrid sports car, and when it finally made its debut at this month's Frankfurt Motor Show, it did not disappoint.  It's the Concept X5 eDrive, and it's a green car that we can easily imagine amidst the rest of our new model lineup here at BMW of Salem.

It looks very similar to the X5 models that we have here at our Salem, OR dealership, but with blue trim that identifies it as an i-Series electric city car.  However, under its hood, you'll find an electric motor and a twin-turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes it different from anything we've driven from the automaker yet.

This SAV boasts superior gas mileage, achieving an estimate 61.8 mpg, and can travel up to 75 miles on electric power alone, which is rather impressive for any electric motor on the market today.  It's powerful, too, going from zero to sixty in just 7.0 seconds.  With specs like these, it'll have no problem fitting in with the rest of the luxury automaker's powerful, performance-based lineup.

If you have any questions about this recently unveiled green vehicle, get in touch with a member of our team today.  We'll be happy to answer your questions as best we can, and if you'd like to take a test drive in one of the models that we already have here on our showroom floor, we'll be happy to set you up to do that, too.   We look forward to hearing from you soon.
