The LA Auto Show is kicking off shortly and the BMW of Salem staff is excited about what our favorite brand will bring to the stage, specifically the BMW i3 and the i8. While American enthusiasts will catch their first glimpse at the i3 at the event, the German general public is already behind the wheel of this revolutionary vehicle.
Now, we're certainly not spilling that detail to make Salem, OR drivers feel left out. After all, whenever an exciting model becomes available, we want to have it on-hand at our new BMW showroom ASAP. However, the fact that the all-electric i3 has hit the streets in the brand's home country of Germany is simply too monumental to ignore.
That means that when the luxury electric vehicle hits the stage in LA, the crowd won't be looking at a concept that might be road-ready somewhere down the line; they'll be taking in a truly innovative luxury vehicle that has already hit production across the pond.
"Today marks a milestone in the history of the BMW Group, as we hand over our first BMW i premium electric vehicle to customers. In doing so, we are bringing sustainable mobility to the roads," said BMW boss, Ian Robertson.1
Although we are anxiously awaiting the 2014 arrival of the ecofriendly addition, we'd have to agree with Ian's sentiments.
For more information about the brand's green offerings, stop into our showroom and our sales team can fill you in on powertrain details, performance stats, and even expected dates of arrival.
