What Kinds of Gasoline Engines Are Available in the BMW 3 Series?

BMW offers several engines in its 3 Series of cars. The volume of available power sources in the series is a reminder that this lineup of vehicles has been around since 1974. BMW offers its cars with gasoline drive, diesel drive, and hybrid electric drive units.

Engineers have included two very different engines in the BMW 3 Series. The base trims of i320, i328, and i330 come standard with a 2.0 Liter Turbocharged Inline four-cylinder engine that generates 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque while getting 23-city, 33- highway, and 27 combined mpg. The 3.0 Liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine produces 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of Torque while getting 20-city, 29-highway, and 23-combined mpg.

At BMW of Salem in Salem, OR, we offer test drives in any of the BMW 3 Series of vehicles.
